Jack takes 3 weeks to decorate his mum's dining room.

He gets paid £10 every day.

How much does he get paid to decorate the room.

 

Answer

1 week = 7 days.

3 weeks = 3 × 7 = 21 days.

21 × 10 = £210

Example 2

Annie stays at her job for 4¼ years.

How many months is this?

 

Answer

1 year = 12 months.

½ year = 6 months.

¼ year = 3 months.

 

4¼ years = 4 × 12 + 3 = 48 + 3 = 51 months
