When we read we often come across words that we don't know. One thing we can do is to read the rest of the sentence and then go back to the difficult word and try again.

 

Look at this sentence:

Josh was feeling fatigued so he went to bed early.

 

You may not know the word 'fatigued' but by reading on you can work out that it probably means 'very tired'.

In this activity, we will practise working out the meaning of new words by reading the whole sentence and then going back.
