In this activity, we will be learning about gravity.

"Gravity gets me down!"  Did Sir Isaac Newton say that?

ell, maybe not, but it's certainly true that "down" is due to gravity.

When a force is applied to an object, it moves.

The size of a force can be measured using a Forcemeter which is sometimes called a Newtonmeter.

They look like this!

Sir Isaac Newton was a famous British scientist who is credited with writing many important laws about gravity and other forces. According to a famous story Newton sat under an apple tree and was hit on the head by a falling apple!

He realised that the apple fell to the ground as a result of a force, which he later termed gravity.

Newton proposed several important laws which are still used by scientists today.

You may know that forces are measured in Newtons (N), after Sir Isaac Newton.

OK, let's find out about Fantastic Forces!
