Use Plural and Possessive -s Correctly

The word plural means more than one of something.

When we want to show that there is more than one of a noun, we often (but not always) add s to the end of the word.

For example:

one cake - several cakes

one boat - lots of boats

We also add s to the end of the word when we want to show possession of a singular noun (again, this is the rule for many, but not all, nouns).  When showing possession, we need to use an apostrophe.

For example:

the cake's flavour

the boat's mast

In this activity, we will practise using s or 's at the end of a word to demonstrate a plural or possession.
