In our homes, we use electricity all the time for many different things.
It would be very hard to live without using electricity.
Think about what uses electricity in your kitchen - the kettle, the fridge, the freezer, the washing machine, the toaster, the iron and many more things.
Appliances in our homes are powered from the mains electricity by using a plug and a plug socket.
The amount of electricity coming out of a plug socket can be large and dangerous.

This is why we never experiment with mains electricity when we are learning about it.
Simple circuits are a good way to learn about electricity because they are powered by a battery, so the amount of electricity passing round the circuit is quite low.

In this activity, we will have the chance to think about some electrical vocabulary words.
Are you ready?
