From your work on magnets you'll have found out that they come in different shapes, sizes and strengths, that they're often made of iron or steel and that they attract certain objects.

Magnets

Magnets have different poles (north and south) and while either pole may attract a magnetic material, magnets repel each other if the same poles are facing (S-S or N-N).

It's often tricky to find out if something is magnetic or not.  Of course, magnets are great to play with and to find out about forces, but how do you go about finding out if something is magnetic?

In this activity, you can test your knowledge of magnetism and also predict what you think is going to happen in a variety of different magnetic situations.

Magnets are so attractive!
