To research a topic means to use sources of information to find out more about it. We can use the internet, text books and other sources to find things out, but it can be hard to know where to start.
If we are not careful we can spend hours looking through things without making any progress, but one good way to begin is to think of definite questions that we want answers to.
For example, there is a huge amount of information available about the Vikings, so we can focus our research by thinking of questions such as:
Where did they come from?
When did they invade Britain?
What weapons did they have?
What were their beliefs?
In this worksheet you can practise thinking of suitable questions to ask when researching different topics.
