This activity is about writing one number as a fraction of another.

Have you ever had a spelling test and been given your mark out of 10? If you got 9 out of 10 right, then you can feel very pleased with yourself - it could be written as 9/10 or 9 out of 10.

If you only got 2 right, you know that you've got a bit more work to do on those spellings. It might be written as 2/10 or 2 out of 10.

Here's another example:

Write 2 sweets as a fraction of 10 sweets. 

Answer

We simply write the 2 above the 10 to get two tenths or 2/10

Your answer simply means 2 sweets out of a possible 10 sweets.
