CUBE and CUBOID
A cube has 6 square faces.
A cuboid has 6 faces, some of which are rectangles.
PRISMS
Prisms have a flat base and faces that go straight up.
The top face is the same as the base.
A triangular prism has a triangular base and top, with upright faces.
A hexagonal prism has a hexagonal base and top, with upright faces.
N.B. A cube and a cuboid are also prisms, but don't count them as prisms in this worksheet. Give them their proper names.
CYLINDER
A cylinder has a circular base and top, with upright faces.
CONE
A cone has a circular base and rises to a point.
PYRAMID
A square based pyramid has a square base and rises to a point.
SPHERE
A sphere is like a round ball.
HEMISPHERE
A hemisphere is a sphere that has been cut exactly in half. It has a circular base.
