This activity is about adding ten to a given number.
Example
If I have 33 sweets and then buy 10 more, how many sweets do I have in total?
Write the number that is 10 more than 33.
Answer
Count 10 more on the number line.
33 + 10 = 43 sweets
Can you see that when we count ten more to a number, only the tens digit needs to change. The ones digit remains the same.
So, 43 + 10 = 53 the tens digit changes from 4 to 5. The ones digit remains the same
17 + 10 = 27 the tens digit changes from 1 to 2. The ones digit remains the same.
