Inside your body there is a framework of bones. This is your skeleton - without it you wouldn't be able to move and your body would be an unattractive soft heap on the floor.
Many other types of animals have skeletons too that are similar to ours.
Not all bones are the same! A bird's bones can be very light and fragile, while the bones of a fish can be very flexible.
Bones differ according to the different jobs they do. As you might expect, a leg bone that has to support a lot of weight will be big and strong.
There are loads and loads of animals that don't have bones at all. Can you think of some examples? Wonder how they support their bodies....?
In this activity, you can test out your knowledge of bones and skeletons.
