This pie chart shows the holiday destinations of a class of children.
When we add up all of the percentages, the entire pie is equal to 100%.
Example What fraction of the class stayed in the UK?
Answer
We look at the blue piece of pie that says the UK and we can see that we have 25% of the class in this segment.
25/100 children stayed in the UK which we can simplify by dividing both the top and bottom by 25 to get 1/4 of the class stayed in the UK.
