There are 7 days in a week.

So we need to do 45 ÷ 7 = 6 r 3.

We leave off the remainder, so there are still 6 whole weeks in 45 days.

 

 

Example 3

How many whole weeks are there in 420 days?

 

Answer 3

There are 7 days in a week.

So we need to do 420 ÷ 7 =  60  (remember that 42 ÷ 7 = 6)

There are 60 whole weeks in 420 days.
