In this activity, we will learn the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. 

 

2-dimensional (2D) shapes are flat and can only be drawn on paper.

3-dimensional (3D) shapes are solid and can be picked up.  

 

We need to be familiar with the names of the following shapes.

A six-sided dice is a 3D shape called a cube.
