In this activity, we will feed shapes into a simple tree diagram to see where they exit.

Look at this example in which we feed a circle in at the top.

First of all, let's talk about what a right angle is!

A right angle is when two lines join together to make an L shape.

Here is a triangle, the corner with the small square is showing the right angle in this shape.

The other two angles would not make an L shape so they are not right angles.

Now, let's look at how we answer this question.

We start at the top with the question: 'Does the shape have right angles?'

A circle does not have right angles, so the answer is 'No'.

We follow the 'No' arrow and the next question is 'Are any sides curved?'

A circle has all its sides curved, so the answer is 'Yes'.

We follow the 'Yes' arrow and it takes us to the letter C.

So the circle ends up at C because it is curved and has no right angles.

Let's try this with some other shapes in the questions!
