Science isn't always black or white - or even, liquid or solid!

 

Most liquids are obviously liquid, for example cola, water, cooking oil. They all pour easily, they take on the shape of their container and they have a flat surface when they're sitting in that container, such as a bottle - properties like that.

On the other hand, some liquids are so thick and sticky that they seem to have the properties of solids:

As you know, there are some tests we can do that indicate which properties a material has, like those liquid properties mentioned above.

When we know the properties, it's easier to classify the material as a liquid or a solid - yes?
