Sometimes when we go shopping we are faced with all sorts of 'Special Offers' such as
2 for £5
3 for £9
To work out the special offer that gives the best value, we must work out the unit price (i.e. the price for one item).
We do this by dividing.
2 for £5 means that each item costs £5 ÷ 2 = £2.50
3 for £9 means that each item costs £9 ÷ 3 = £3
The cheapest or the best value offer is therefore 2 for £5
Let's try some questions and see if you can spot the best offers.
