Rotation is a term that describes the action of turning a shape.

The shape can turn either clockwise or anti-clockwise.

 

Clockwise is the same direction as the hands on a clock move.

Anti-clockwise is the opposite way.

Take a look at this picture of a boat:

 

Which of the following options shows a correct rotation of this boat?

a)        b)        c)  

 

The correct answer is c!

 

It can’t be option a as this image has been flipped over (reflected) and it can’t be option b as the image is too big.
