'Count Up and Down in Tenths Using Decimals' worksheet

Key stage:  KS 2

Year:  Year 3 Maths worksheets

Curriculum topic:   Number: Fractions

Curriculum subtopic:   Count in Tenths

Difficulty level:

Worksheet Overview

In this activity, we will be learning how to count in tenths.

When we divide one whole into ten equal pieces, each one is called one tenth or 1/10.

bar model

This bar model shows that one whole is the same as, or equal to, ten tenths.

In numbers with a decimal point, the number immediately to the right of the decimal point shows how many tenths there are. It is the tenths column.

So 0.3 shows three tenths and 5.8 shows five whole numbers and eight tenths.

We can write one tenth as 1/10 or 0.1.
