Hello letter detective, it’s time for another letter puzzle. Can you help us to solve the challenge below?
We are going to look at the alphabet in a different way than usual.
In this activity, you will be working out sequences that use letters of the alphabet.
Here is the alphabet for you to use as a reference:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
Take a look at the following alphabetic sequence:
AC, EG, IK, MO, _
What are the next two letters in the sequence?
First, we need to work out how each first letter jumps to reach the next first letter.
They are jumping four forward in the alphabet each time.
Then, we need to work out how each second letter jumps to reach the next second letter.
They are also jumping four forward in the alphabet each time.
So if we jump four forward from MO we reach QS! This is because Q is 4 letters after M and S is 4 letters after O.
So the sequence would be: AC, EG, IK, MO, QS, etc…
