When you work this out it is important to imagine the situation. If you missed a train at London, you would have to wait at London for the next train. This means that we must only look at the London row to work out this answer. When we look at the times for the London trains, we can see that there is 40 minutes between each train. Best to be on time and not have to wait!

How are you doing? For this one, we need to look down the columns. We need to know how long it will take us if we get on a train at Richmond and get off at Staines. If we got on at Richmond at 8:25 we wouldn't get into Staines until 8:40. This will take us 15 minutes.

You need to pay attention to the timings that you are working with here. The train from Richmond to Staines leaves at 12:05 and takes 15 minutes, but I am 5 minutes early for the train so it will take me 20 minutes to get to Staines. This question needed a bit of addition as well as time-table reading, well done if you got this correct!
