Year:  Year 5 11+ worksheets

Curriculum topic:   Maths and Numerical Reasoning

Curriculum subtopic:   Mixed Problems

Worksheet Overview

In this worksheet, you must use a calculator to answer these questions.

Example

Work out £3.41 + 56p.  Give your answer in £s.

Answer

We must NOT work out 3.41 + 56 as one amount is in £s and the other in pence.

The answer is to be given in £s, so we change everything to pence.

56p is the same as £0.56

On the calculator, we add 3.41 + 0.56 = 3.97

The answer is £3.97.

N.B. The answer is not 3.97 but £3.97

Make sure you put units in all the questions where either the question has them, or the questions asks for them.
