Worksheet Overview

A dictionary is a very useful book.

It can help us to spell words and it also gives the definitions (or meanings) of words.

Dictionaries are arranged in alphabetical order, so if we want to look up a word beginning with the letter 'a' we need to look near the front and if we want to look up a word beginning with 'w' we need to look near the back.

In this worksheet you will be thinking about how the words in a dictionary are arranged.

If you have a dictionary it will be helpful but you should be able to complete the worksheet without one.
