We can split a rectangle into two parts like this.
Or we can split a rectangle into two equal parts like this.
When we split it into two equal parts, each part is called a half of the whole rectangle.
When the parts are not equal, they are not halves.
We can split lots of shapes into halves but this activity is going to concentrate on only rectangles.
