Your task in this activity is to search for the fraction that represents the correct probability for each question. Are you up for the challenge?

 

Fractions can be used to represent probability, with the top number (numerator) being the options we are looking for and the bottom number (denominator) being the total number of options. 

 

Example

Harry has some spare change in his pocket. Find the fraction that represents the probability of him pulling out a 5p coin.

 

 

Choose the correct answer, but watch out - can the fraction be simplified?

There are two 5p coins, out of a possible twelve coins which would give:

 

 

 

 

Notice that both 2 and 12 are divisible by 2. This can be simplified to 1/6
