Worksheet Overview

The prefix over- usually has the meaning of 'too much' when it is added to a verb. For example:

He overcharged me for those crisps. That's not fair!

A man pulling a funny face holding American dollars

Sometimes, however, it is not so obvious. To oversee does not mean to see too much, but to supervise or keep a watch over something.

The warehouse manager's job is to oversee the workers.

In this worksheet you will be looking at words where the prefix over- may mean different things. You might find a dictionary helpful.
