This is a practice GCSE English Literature Paper 1 in the style of Eduqas.
In the GCSE examination, you may complete your answers in a written answer booklet or on a computer. At EdPlace, you will type your answers manually into onscreen boxes and use marking criteria to grade your answers afterwards.
The time is set for 2 hours (120 minutes) but you can keep working once the timer has run out. You are advised to spend roughly 1 hour on each section (A and B).
Important: This question paper contains all text choices. Although there are 14 questions on the paper, you will only need to answer four: two from Section A (Q2 - 13 answer on one text only) and two from Section B (Q14 and 15). Use the contents list (located on the first page) to work out which questions you need. You can return to check it at any time. Once you have finished your answers and checked them through, go back to the contents page and check the box to complete the assessment.

Instructions:
You must answer the questions in the spaces provided.
Answer two questions from Section A and two questions from Section B.
In Section A, only answer questions on one text.
You must not use a dictionary.

The maximum marks for questions are shown in brackets.
The maximum mark for this paper is 80.
AO4 will be assessed in Section A. There are five marks available for AO4 in Section A in addition to 35 marks for answering the questions.
AO4 assesses the following skills: the use of a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity, purpose and effect, with accurate spelling and punctuation.
There are 40 marks for Section B.
