Understand the Different Parts of Plants

There are so many different types of plants - some grow beautiful flowers, others grow delicious fruits and vegetables. 

 

     

 

It is important for us to understand the different parts of a plant. 

 

Here are some below:

 

Seed     

 

Plants grow from seeds. They usually need to be planted in the soil and have the right amount of water and the right temperature to be able to grow into a healthy plant.

 

Flower     

 

The flower of a plant is usually at the top. It is brightly coloured and attracts bees and butterflies that come and sip nectar. The flowers also sometimes contain seeds. 

 

 

Stem     

 

The stem shoots up from the bulb or seed and holds up the leaves and flowers. This is a very important job!

 

 

Leaf     

 

Leaves are super important as they soak up sunlight and turn it into energy so the plant can survive.
