Worksheet Overview

Lots of objects around us are made from different materials.

We know that several materials can have the same properties.

Be careful not to mix up the object with the material!

Chairs are objects.

They can be made of plastic or wood.

Plastic and wood are materials.

Wooden chairs do not break if we drop them. Plastic chairs are more stiff and strong, but they can crack and break if they are dropped.

We have to consider these things when we decide what material to use to make different objects.

Let's look at everyday objects and give reasons why they are made from different materials!
