Worksheet Overview

OK, so this might start off by looking scary, but take a moment to walk through this slowly, before we get stuck in. It truly isn't as bad as it looks, honest!

First of all, this is called a concept map.  They're useful tools which can be helpful for showing the relationship between ideas.

In fact, some people really love them and use them to help with their revision before exams, drawing lines between things they've been studying, showing how they're linked.

So, here is a concept map of reversible and irreversible changes, showing a variety of changes when substances are mixed, heated or whatever, as well as helping you to use the correct word for a change:

Before we get stuck in, let's take one area of the map to look at.

Find the area, top left, to do with candlewax.

Can you see an arrow going up to 'Molten Wax', with 'HEAT' next to it?

It also says 'Question 3', so what that's saying is that Question 3 is to do with what happens to wax when it's heated.

You know the answer already, don't you?!

So, your task is to follow through each section deciding on the correct word to describe the change that is occurring at that point - you'll soon get the hang of it and, who knows, it might end up being something that you use yourself, to help with your work.

Are you up for the challenge? It'll help you to understand a lot about how different materials behave - it will, really!
