If you want to read a word you can 'sound it out' to help you. This means saying the sounds the letters make and then putting them together.
Remember that sometimes two letters make one sound.
In this activity, you can practise reading words by sounding them out.
Some sounds are tricky to sound out - remember f in fish is made by placing your top teeth on your bottom lip and pushing air through to part them.
Try not to confuse it with th as in think - this sound is made by putting your tongue between your teeth and pulling it back.
