A homophone is a word that sounds the same as another word but has a different meaning. Many homophones are spelt differently, too.

 

for example:

My grandad has grey hair.

We saw a hare in the middle of the field.

In this activity, you can practise choosing the correct homophone to complete a sentence. You may need a dictionary to help you if you are not sure which is the right one.
