This is a practice GCSE English Language Paper 2 in the style of Pearson Edexcel.

 

In the GCSE examination, you may complete your answers in a written answer booklet or on a computer. You will be given a question paper and a separate reading insert. 

 

At EdPlace, you will be given both reading insert and the questions together. You will type your answers manually into onscreen boxes and use marking criteria to grade your answers afterwards.

 

The time is set for 2 hours and 5 minutes (125 minutes) but you can keep working once the timer has run out. You are advised to manage your time effectively to ensure you allow enough time for both sections.

Answer all questions in Section A and one question from Section B.

You must answer the questions in the spaces provided.

You must refer to TEXT 1 AND 2 where specified in the question.

You must not use a dictionary.

The maximum marks for the questions are shown in brackets

The maximum mark for this paper is 96.

There are 56 marks for Section A and 40 marks for Section B.
