Worksheet Overview

Time is passing all the time.

Even reading this sentence takes time... but how long?

In this activity, we are going to be working out how long some things take from the start to the end of the event.

Facts we need to know:

60 seconds = 1 minute

60 minutes = 1 hour

24 hours = 1 day

Example

Simone's music lesson starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.

How long does the music lesson last?

girl playing piano

In this question, we need to find how much time passes between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

a clock showing 9:30

We can see that the time on this clock reads 9:30.

From one digit to the next is 5 minutes.

If we count in 5s (5 minutes) from 6 to 12 we can see that 30 minutes will have passed.

After 30 minutes the time will be 10 o'clock.

clock saying 10.00

The music lesson lasts 30 minutes.

Now, why don't you have a go at some questions?
