Worksheet Overview

Volume describes the amount of space a 3D shape takes up.

To calculate the volume of a cube/cuboid, we multiply the length by the width by the height.

v = l x w x h

We usually measure volume in cm³ or m³

Let's have a go!

What is the volume of this cube?

a cube

Each of the sides measures 3 cm

To calculate the volume we multiply l x w x h

As the sides are all 3 cm in length, the calculation will be 3 x 3 x 3 (v = l x w x h)

3 x 3 x 3 = 27

The unit of measure is cm³

The volume is 27 cm³

Now, why don't you have a go at a few questions?
