In this worksheet, students will visualise a piece of paper being folded and then hole-punched in two places. Students need to identify what the piece of paper would look like after it has been unfolded again.

In this activity, you will need to use your brain to visualise some images in your head.

 

Imagine that the square below is a piece of paper:

 

Now, imagine that piece of paper being folded in half along the dotted line:

 

Then visualise someone hole-punching two holes in the folded piece of paper as below:

Now we need to imagine what the piece of paper would look like once it has been unfolded again.

 

We have 3 possible options to choose from:

a)         b)         c) 

 

The correct answer is option b, as both holes will be in the same position on the top half of the paper.

The correct answer is c, because two holes were punched in the centre of the paper and went through two pages which were directly on top of each other:
