Evaluating writing...what does that mean?
Imagine you’ve built a block castle. You're super proud of it, but you want to make it even better, right? So, you step back and look at it from different angles. You check if the towers are strong, if the drawbridge works, and if it looks awesome!
Evaluating writing is like that! We write something, then take a step back to see if it's the best it can be.
Here's why it's important:
To make it clear: Is your story easy to understand, like showing your castle to a friend? Are there confusing parts they might ask about? Fixing those makes it clearer for everyone!
To make it fun to read: writing that's confusing or boring isn't fun to read!
To improve our skills: The more we build Lego castles (and write!), the better we get at it! Evaluating our writing helps us to learn and grow as writers.
To make it mind-blowing!: Evaluating gives you the chance to make your writing more exciting! Are there funny words you can use? Can you describe things in a way that helps people to imagine them?
So, evaluating writing helps us to build the best stories, poems, or letters we can, just like making the coolest brick castle around!
