Worksheet Overview

Did you know that the average adult English speaker knows between 20,000 and 35,000 words?!

That's a lot of words. A vast amount. An astronomical figure. (See what I did here?!)

But it is not enough to just know the words. You need to be able to use them in the correct way, and using correct grammar is the first step.

Getting your grammar correct is super important. Not only does it make your writing easier to read and understand, but it ensures that your ideas, opinions and points of view can be clearly understood by a reader. And, actually, this works for you as a reader too; if you can't understand what has been written because of poor grammar, you might miss out on important information.

In this activity, we will look at a key part of grammar in English - the different parts of a sentence. You will be able to identify some parts of a sentence and might even recognise how you could use these in your own writing. So let's get started!
