Writers make hundreds of deliberate and purposeful choices when they write.

Identifying, understanding and explaining these are all a part of analysis.

Analysing a text is a key skill in English.

You can analyse anything a writer has done: their vocabulary use, punctuation, sentence type and grammatical choices.

In this activity, we will be looking at examples of writers' grammatical choices and working to explain why those choices have been made.
