Worksheet Overview

We should eat five portions of fruit and vegetables every day to stay healthy.

A portion is easy to remember if you think of it as roughly a handful!

There is an easy way to tell the difference between fruits and vegetables.

Fruits contain seeds.

Vegetables are any other part of a plant we eat that does not have seeds inside.

Is this apple a fruit or a vegetable?

green apple

Answer:  An apple is a fruit

We know this because it contains seeds - those little brown pips inside the core.

Now let's see if we can tell the difference using simple clues.
