Worksheet Overview

The animal kingdom and plant world are full of amazing creatures with all sorts of cool names! Here's a breakdown to get you started:

Animals

Mammals: These are furry friends like you! (although we have hair on our heads, less like fur!) We have lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!), but also cuddly cats, playful dogs, and even giant whales in the ocean - they have a little hair when they are born.

Birds: They have feathers and can fly (most of them!). From the brightly coloured parrots to the speedy falcons, there are all sorts of birds chirping outside your window.

Fish: Gills help them breathe underwater! There are colourful parrotfish, jellyfish, starfish and giant sharks (don't worry, they mostly live in the deep ocean!) - there's a whole world of fish to discover.

Reptiles: They have scales and are cold-blooded. Snakes slither, lizards climb, and turtles carry their homes on their backs!

Plants:

Trees: They're the giants of the plant world! They provide shade, grow delicious fruits, and are homes for many animals. We have tall oak trees, leafy apple trees, and even spiky cacti in deserts!

Flowers: These beauties come in all colours and shapes! From the fragrant roses to the cheerful sunflowers, they provide homes and food to bumblebees and butterflies.

Grasses: They're like the tiny green hair of the Earth! They form lawns to play on, and some grow tall enough to be food for cows and horses.

Mushrooms: These aren't plants, but they're fun to find! They come in many shapes and sizes, but remember, don't touch or eat any you find in the wild - they can be deadly!

Remember, these are just a few examples! There are countless amazing animals and plants waiting to be discovered. Maybe on your next walk outside, you can see how many different ones you can find!
