Did you know that everything scientists have found has a special name?

Just like us, every animal or plant (that we have found so far) has a special, scientific name.

 

When we know the names of animals and plants, we can recognise them out and about, learn more about them and talk to our friends about them!

 

Look at these animals and plants below and see if you recognise any of them. Where have you seen them before?

In our animal picture there is: a frog, a worm, a snail, a crab, a starfish, a crocodile, a jellyfish, a coral, a hare (type of rabbit), a wren (bird) a fish and a bumblebee! Phew!

 

Now look at these plants:
