Read the sentence below:

 

Looking out at the starry sky, Ivy rubbed her eyes and let out a big yawn.

How is Ivy feeling?

What time of day is it?

 

We can use the clues in this sentence to help us.

 

People rub their eyes and yawn when they are tired, so we can infer that Ivy is tired.

If the sky is full of stars, it must be dark outside. We can infer that it is evening.

 

 

In this activity, we will answer inference questions.
