This activity is all about making predictions.

 

Predictions are clever guesses about what might happen next in a story.

What might be behind the door?

 

We can use the clues in the picture to help us answer this question.

 

This door looks like it might be on a farm.

The top of the door opens separately for animals such as horses to look out.

We can predict that a horse or another animal might be behind this door.

 

 

Read the sentence below:

 

As Josiah turned the sparkly handle on the grand door, he was surrounded by lights and classical music.

 

Where could Josiah be?

 

Maybe he has opened the door to an incredible mansion.

Maybe he has opened the door to a great stage show.
