Make Predictions About Events in a Story

This activity is all about making predictions.

 

Predictions are clever guesses about what might happen next in a story.

Prediction questions also ask us to predict what a character might say or think.

 

Look at the cave below.

 

 

What might be in the cave?

 

Could it be full of artefacts from thousands of years ago?

Could an animal or monster be hiding inside?

 

 

Read the sentence below:

 

Zoe shone her torch into the mouth of the cave. It was surprisingly quiet and cold. As she took a few more steps, a giant shadow crossed her path.

 

Who or what might the shadow belong to?

 

 

Could it be an angry bear?

Could it be another explorer like Zoe?

Was it her own shadow?
