In any piece of writing, there are links that keep the whole thing together. 

 

You have nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs all adding to the description, but what about the other bits?

 

The words and phrases that link things together?

 

These are called cohesive devices, but more simply, are the links that work to structure your writing

 

In this activity, you will look at some of these devices and see how to use them in your work.
