Shapes that are exactly the same shape and size are congruent.

That is, the same angle and the same side in both shapes are identical. 

 

Reflections and rotations change the orientation (direction) of the shape but they can still be congruent!

 

The arrows below are congruent because they are identical, but one is facing up and one down.
