You can test what makes a conductor by building a simple circuit with a light bulb and then inserting the item to test.

This simple circuit is testing paper clips to see if they are conductors.

When the paper clips are held together, if the light turns on then they are conductors!

What do you think might happen?

circuit with paper clips

In this circuit, the bulb would turn on as paper clips are made from metal and therefore will allow the electricity to flow around the circuit.

In this activity, we will be having a go at identifying conductors.

Shall we begin?
