When we write descriptively or creatively, a good way to communicate effectively with your audience is to use literary devices.

A literary device is a specific way of using language that can create images or sounds for the reader.

Using these helps ensure that your reader is immersed in whatever it is you have written.

In this activity, we will look at three useful literary devices and how to use them. We will also begin to develop our knowledge of the effects that using these devices can have.
