Worksheet Overview

Wow, what a lovely coat! Perfect for an autumn day!

Would we wear this coat in summer?

No, because it would make us too hot!

Look at that hat, that looks ideal for a hot summer’s day!

Would we wear that hat in winter?

No, because it wouldn’t keep us warm enough or dry in the rain and snow.

It is important to know what to wear in each season, to keep us comfortable, happy and healthy.

Let’s recap:

girl in spring

In spring, we need lighter layers because it gets warmer, but still might rain, so we want a raincoat, or umbrella.

summer girl hat sun

In summer, we need very light layers, shorts, t shirts and extra items like a sun hat, sunglasses and sun cream, to protect us from the sun that can damage us with too much exposure to it.

girl in autumn coat

In autumn, the weather gets cooler and wetter, so we need wellington boots to keep our feet dry and warmer layers, like jumpers and waterproof coats.

Winter is the coldest season when it gets freezing outside. We need extra layers like gloves and hats to keep our fingers and heads warm and big coats to keep us all cosy.

Are you ready to practise matching the right clothes to the right season? Let's give it a go!
